We need an ally in matters of shale gas – Komorowski!

- We look forward to the shale gas, it can be a great chance for Poland, – the president said.

In his opinion, Poland should find allies in this matter. During the press conference, the president was asked, as he refers to information that the Bulgarian parliament adopted a decision prohibiting the use of the technology of hydraulic splitting rocks to search for oil and gas, which in practice means a ban on the search for shale gas in Bulgaria.

– We look forward to the shale gas, this is a great chance for Poland – the president said. – The fact that other countries, including our part of Europe have expressed interest in technology and prospect for new sources of energy can be very beneficial for our country. Here Poland can find allies in the fight against those who – for various reasons – I would like to reduce, not increase the chances of discovery of shale gas reservoirs.

According to him, reducing the chances of discovery of shale gas reservoirs would be contrary to the interests of Poland.

Following the discovery of shale gas reservoirs Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski questioned in gas relations with Russia.
